Everyone has standards to live by, choices, preference and values they support and respect. It’s not to say that any one person is right in their believes, as it is only their opinion, but that’s just the point, it is their opinion, and the more in tune you can be with someone in your outlook and life values, the more smoothly your relationship is.
So, when you look at it from this point of view, relationships do have rules and regulations, but if you both agree you will have less confronting problems to deal with.
